I replied yes I am, I am using 6lb test. He laughed and told me that I needed to use 2lb test. I told him that he was crazy and it wouldnt make any difference. He assured me that it would and sure enough I tried the 2lb test line and the rest is history.

That is similiar to my path. About 5-6 years ago I ran into Ed down around Stonewall on the Caney. He showed me the lures and gave me some to try. Later I moved up towards Bett'ys and used them on my "light setup" (6lbs test) with no luck what so ever. I figured it was a gimmick until last when Alpha convinced me othewise. Sure would love to have those years back... LOL.

These are going to be my go to bait on my smallie banks for Old Hickory until they don't produce smallies anymore. Seriously.. I have more confidence in these than anything else I previously threw there.

I have started using the magnets this year with 6lb line, and not much luck. Just thought it was something I was doing wrong....will now try 2lb leader. Thanks for info!!!

You can't really fish a Trout Magnet with 6# test line. You will have hardly any casting distance and 6# test will take away the action some.....plus I don't think you can feel the jig with that heavy of line.

Regards
