I have a Canon PowerShot SD1200IS digital elph. This is the third in that line that I have owned. The camera takes good pictures not great. I feel the older series with less bells n whistles took better pictures which was why I kept buying them.
Compared to the others in the same $200-$300 price range there is probably a better camera on the market.
Canon has always been good but some of the others have caught up in my opinion.

Alpha...A couple days ago I was taking a picture of a bluegill and dropped it in the pond. Had to reach up to my elbow to retreive it off the silt bottom. Powered it back on tried to take a couple more pics but they were blurry as seen in my last gill thread. Once got home about an hour later, I took the front/back covers off to let dry. Swabbed the lens to get muck off and put the thing back together.....
still works just as good as it did before. It has been dropped everywhere now this. The camera seems bulletproof.
This may have just convinced me to buy another when the time comes. I will trade off pretty good pictures over great when a camera is this durable.
