Rocks, and not falling from the Bluff . Trophy Stripers use the bluffs in two ways. One they use them for back stops to pin bait down when they are hiding from a submerged ambush point. And secondly to use the bluff itself as an ambush point to strike channel active bait.
A trophy size Striper can move like a missile when a tempting morsel swims by, even though they are large and lazy by nature. That is why you usually find the Big Girls following striper schools that has already ravaged the bait school using the same method stated previously.
Now as far as where the fish are in the Lake at certain times of year, depends on the water temp and their internal clock and Comfort zones. Their primary goal is for them to be in a happy place upstream for the Fall False Spawn that they go through every year. Similar to the Spring migration. Hope this helps and good luck. <'TK><
