Default Dale Hollow

Guys Dale Hollow is on fire right now. If you aren't familiar with the lake but have been wanting to go then now is the time. I fished Dale Hollow Thursday and Friday and the largemouth ans smallmouth are both shallow and biting. The largemouth are very shallow on wood and the smallmouth are shallow on points and flats. I caught almost all my smallmouth on a swimbait and a couple on a biffle head. All of my largemouth came on a spinnerbait and a buzzbait with a couple on a swimbait. We caught tons of fish over 3lbs and I caught one smallmouth that weighed 5lb 3ounces. The smallmouth seemed to be staged just outside of spawning pockets and the largemouth were on wood in spawning areas.

That confirms what I read in a recent Region 3 TWRA report. Nice catch for sure.

The water isnt high but not winter pool either. The lake was a mixture of clean and stained water. No really stained water anywhere.

Thanks guys. It was an epic couple days. The good thing is that with the weather the conditions on the lake should stay the same for a couple weeks at least.

Going fishing for the first time this weekend...This is the best time of the year for monster SM up there. I work too much...I haven't had a day off in a year, my boss asked me whats going on??? I said I'm going fishing this weekend and next week, and if its good going to put in for another week off. He looked worried and called a meeting with my team. LOL

Lol! I hope you smash them man. I am grateful for the information that you gave me last fall and I'll never forget that. I'm going up there again this Thursday and Friday. If you want any information or specific locations feel free to send me a message and if I'm as successful as last week I will give you any info I got

The fishing is still good at Dale Hollow. I spent the day there yesterday and while the largemouth bite is tough the smallmouth bite is still very strong. I spent half the day fishing for largemouth and half the day fishing for smallmouth. It's not terribly hard to catch largemouth but it's not like it was the last couple weeks and I never caught one over 4lbs. I spent my time fishing for largemouth in the back of creeks and caught them on a spinnerbait, buzzbait, and a frog.

The smallmouth bite is still strong on the main lake in likely spawning areas. I caught all my smallmouth on swimbait.

Some of the largemouth seem to be spawning as a few were skinny and beat up. I only saw 2 beds yesterday and one had a nice fish on it but wasn't really locked on. We caught quite a few smallmouth and not one showed any signs of spawning, they were all still very fat and healthy looking.

Made a quick trip to DH this morning. The fish mid lake are full blown post spawn now. It took me a little while to figure that out as I was sure there would still be some prespawn left but not the case. They are starting to get in the grass pretty good. Give it another week or so and the deep grass bite will be amazing.
