Default Priest Night Crappie

Went out the other night for some crappie under the lights. Had 22 keepers. A friend had 12. Numerous stripe, but was looking for the crappie. Fishing 20-30 feet of water, 12-16 foot down with minnows. 4 corners area. Went through a pound of minnows.

Good catch, that used to be my favorite way to fish. Unfortunately I can’t stay up that late anymore. Last couple times I went they wouldn’t start biting till Midnight. That makes for a long night.

I can honestly say I have never caught a crappie at night only stripe. Do you fish brush or just find that sweet spot?

usually set up near a drop off around brush.
we got off the water around 2:30. I was ready for bed. I'm usually in bed by 10.
look for bait and fish, no sense in setting up if there is not any activity.

#2 hook with 2 small split shot. The crappie wouldn't hit it like the stripe, you would usually just see the rod tip go up or line start going sideways.

Were the stripe any size or just the little yellow bellies?
