Default Catfishing is good

I know 90% of the people in here bass fisherman but for those who catfish it is pretty hot right now.. I've composter 50-60 fish the past 4 days using shrimp fishing 4-5 ft deep around lock 3 area.
Just wanted to share this info have a happy 4th July!

I love cat fishing in that cove at lock 3. Can rack up on them during the day. Not much luck for me at night. Same bait and about the same depth. I’d like to hang onto some 20+lbers!!!

Hey guys new to forum. Found the site a little while back and have just been lurking, decided to make an account because of this post lol.

I've been fishing OH for 3-4 years for all manner of species, and catfish is one that I just haven't dialed in on yet. I can catch 1 or 2 here and there but no consistent numbers.

When you guys talk about the lock 3 cove are you talking of the fairly large cove to the left when facing the boat ramp?

Thanks guys and look forward to hopefully sharing good reports!

Welcome to the forum. After you learn to wade through the BS you might get some very good advice.
Skillet can't even get a mess of cats at Kroger.

I call that cove the DuPont cove. Lock 3 is across the lake.

Skillet, I think you are turned around. If you are FACING the lock 3 boat ramp then yes the big cove to the left of the boat ramp. Dupont cove is across the lake from lock 3. Dupont cove has a water skimmer in the back at the intake for Dupont.

You’re right. Either way, we all know where it is. Lol. I call it woodys cove, cause him and Mr.Ed are ALWAYS in it fishing.

Thanks for the help everyone!

I managed to get out there saturday with my Brother in law. We pulled up into the cove and the first bank to your right there was a good drop off into some deeper water. We fished from 8-10:30 and managed 3 blues and 2 channels. The blues where in the 3-5lb range and the channels in the 1lb range.

It made for some good eating that night and good fun catching them.

Thanks for the help again, wouldn't have ate good that night if it werent for you guys

You are proud of those....... When you catch 10-15 catfish and can't fill a bucket up I would not show those pictures off.
