Default First Time on Center Hill - Any advice?

Hey guys! It's been months since I've been on here. I hope you all are doing great! Even though I haven't been on here in months I am going to shamelessly ask for tips.

I've gotten into riding dirt bikes so haven't been fishing all that much lately. But... my church is having a men's weekend on Center Hill lake starting tonight. I'm taking my boat!

Any tips that you'd be willing to share on what to target this time of year? How? Where? Any good places to consistently net shad? Here is a map of where we'll be staying so you know what part of the lake I'll be based on. Thanks in advance and have a great weekend!

I don't fish Centerhill much but a friend of mine fishes there every Friday. He uses a jig about 90% of the time and does really well.

I would throw top water early and at dark If you see the minnows getting hit on surface go with the smaller shallow xrap. During the day main points Jumps and rock slides on bluff walls with a jig or shaky head worm. You can also use whole Nightcrawlers on 16th oz heads fish vertical over lay downs on 45 degree or steeper banks. Drop down watch your line if it takes off you are being robbed or have a nice gill. If the line just stops you have a spot. Also live crawdad on bluffs is deadly. I fish the hill a lot and this is what I would do. Walleye are hitting above Pates Ford

Thanks for the tips. The weekend didn't quite go as planned. Do they ever?

On the way up to the cabin on Friday evening, I lost a trailer hub/bearing. I got lucky in that nothing was damaged and nobody got hurt. It was mid-day on Saturday before I got that all straightened out. I was with a group of church guys so it wasn't until about 4pm on Saturday that I headed out to fish. I got to Edgar Evins Marina at 4:36 and they closed at 4:30. I was planning to buy some night crawlers to fish on Lindy Rigs on the bottom. So, with no live bait I decided to head on out and try anything I could to entice a fish or two before dark. I launched the boat, headed out to a spot off a main point with a slow taper down off the point. I marked some fish in about 27 fow and decided to get after it. I stopped the boat and deployed the trolling motor. This is when I realized I had left all the fishing rods in the back of the truck.

So... back to the ramp I went, loaded the boat, headed back to the cabin. Didn't even wet a line.

Am I the only person that has weekends like this?

We need to go to a stocked private lake just to make sure we can catch fish while in the same boat together...... It's been awhile.
