Got me a complimentary Star Buck coffee and haircut today. The young lady giving the cut must have thought I was still in the service, she got it kind of close.
Thanks to all those who served and are still serving.
I know exactly what your saying Merv ... I was ashamed to wear my uniform with the disgust of the war at that time when I came home ... Mine was during the Thet Offensive of 1968 Flying Airborne (A&E 355) Maintenance on EB-66 (Airborne Electronic Countermeasures) While they were shooting Sam's (surface to Air Missals) at us and the F-4's and 105's ... Which we were trying to protect during their bombing runs ... Our job was to orbit and jam the Sam's while the F-4's and 105's ran their missions ... By the way during the Thet our Bombing missions (sorties) ran 24/7...
I am so glad that our troops that have been coming home from the Middle East are treated with respect and Honor ...
We lost 58,000 men during the Viet Nam War ... I do not feel I am a Hero , because I fought by Real Hero's ... But I am grateful that folks in this day in time think I was ... But to those folks who think that ... IT WAS MY PRIVILAGE !... <'TK><
