Did Plenty of scanning looking for fish yesterday. Was more in the explore mode than fishing mode. Trolled a little caught one bass. Seen this activity and then realized from the gar surfacing.. It was just gar on the screen. You can see when my transducers directly over the Gar definitely long white image. Another shot of old hick bait.

Man, if they weren't gar... It looks like the perfect situation. Big school right under the bait! Sweet shots! If I Owned one of those, I would just drive around and never fish! Haha

Nice images. I find I am almost as excited to scan as to fish. I am in the process of moving so haven't been fishing much and probably won't for a few weeks. But even though I have had a couple of days to go I have not as I sent my unit in to get the 800 kHz HD imaging repaired. I just won't put the kayak in the water now without the unit...LOL....thats being pretty spoiled. Humminbird has a problem with all the 2014 899....999...and 1199 series. They did not issue a recall as many who bought those units did not purchase the HD transducer. I had never used the 800 kHz as the 455 kHz was doing fine and the 800 kHz had a white out look. I should have it back middle of the week but I thought Humminbird should have contacted those of us that had registered our product and sent us a mailing box with shipping pre-paid...they did not. Seems only few here in the states use the 800 kHz mode while in Australia only a few use the 455 kHz mode. So I am looking forward to getting back on the water with my unit and trying out the 800 kHz unit. Finding fish with an imaging unit most of the time is pretty easy.....catching can be the problem...LOL.

Regards

Looks like you got it dialed in real good, like you said, you can see they are gar. Once gar are identified, I leave the area and try somewhere else.
