Unhappy This is BS and Gags FTI ... <'TK><

:This just GAGS me... McConnell’s communiqué calls it “McConnell’s Freedom to Fish Act”. I’ve seen grandstanding, and attempts to hog the limelight before, but this one is such bull shit it sickens me. The version of the bill that passed, that included provisions for blocking the Corps from restricting access to the tail-waters, “The Water Resources Reform and Development Act”, is officially recorded in the Library of Congress as H.R. 3080. That is a House of Representatives Bill, not a Senate bill. He couldn’t even be a co-sponsor, much less claim it to be “his” bill. The Bill’s primary sponsor is Congressman Bill Shuster, a Republican from Pennsylvania. Section 2058 of the Bill contains the language that settles the issue with the Corps. The origins of that language came from Kentucky Congressman Ed Whitfield, who championed this thing from the very beginning.

The press release below apparently expects the people of Kentucky (and me) to be ignorant, and accept this crap at face value. Read in the background statement: “On May 20, 2014, Senator McConnell’s Freedom to Fish is passed by the House of Representatives.” How the hell does a member of the United States Senate, take ownership of a bill originating in the House of Representatives? Sorry for rant, but this guy either doesn’t read his own press releases, or he’s a real horse’s ass. The FTF Act (now embedded in H.R. 3080) was authored/sponsored by Congressman Whitfield in the House, and Lamar Alexander in the Senate.

I’m really appreciative of the fact that Ol’ Mitch went to bat for the FTF Act in a pretty big way. But for me, this kind of puffed-shirt announcement takes his “Atta Boys” and turns them into “Aw Shits”...

( Kentucky, glad you have him ... )<'TK>< Info from RD ...
