Default Lowrance HDS Touch found the Catfish

Went out on Old Hickory yesterday to try out the new Lowrance Touch. Have a lot to learn, but it's all good so far...
Here's one the wife pulled in.

That's a nice fish. On your sonar returns are you getting a brighter solid hit at the head and then the rail runs longer, thinner and less solid? How do you fish for you catfish?

On the sonar, I'm getting what looks like a tadpole with a red & yellow head. Pretty easy to distinguish them from other species. I went to a cove and netted some gizzard shad about 4" long. When we got to the channel, I just pull the head and tail off the shad, put them on a small circle hook and send them to the bottom with a 1oz weight on calm days, 2oz when they are really pulling water.

That's a very good way to describe a catfish return on sonar. I never fish like that, I always fish shallow at night for catfish .

I'm spoiled with the Touch. Now every screen that has buttons I come in contact with, I try to push the screen. )
