Default JPP Tailwater 5/12

Went to the tailwater for a few hours today. Surprised to find the trout bite was active. I wouldn't have thought these guys would still be around this time of year. Caught 5 all on a Killer Klatt crappie magnet under a float with the wind working the lure on a slow retrieve. I could see fish all throughout the time I was there but was only able to get the trout to bite.

Pretty colors and I am sure were fun to catch. Water must not be too warm there.

Awesome. My dad flies in next weekend and I was thinking of taking him there if any reports were good.

What was the generation like when you were there?

No generation, no gates open, aerator off. Water level was 391ish on tailwater side according to the TVA site. I fished the trailhead side of the dam from the dam down to the end of the walkway with the staircase.

Sarah caught one last week in the Stones below JPP Dam, but further down river. It was caught on a DT10.
