Thumbs up The CORP Issue !! <'TK><

As most of you know the Corps. of Eng. issue was a temp fix ... Here is the follow up via our friend RA DUTY ...

As I mentioned last month, I’ve been staying close to the Senate and House bills that contain the permanent solution to the 2-year (now 1 year) moratorium against the Corps of Engineers screwing around with river access. The Water Recourses Development Act of 2013, (S.601 in the Senate, and H.R 3080 in the House) has passed both houses, but with some minor differences that they are still trying to work through. One of the parts that is unchanged, word-for-word in both bills, is Section 2058, that clearly puts the previously attempted Corps river barriers off limits. It recognizes the State as the policing authority, and defines the discharge conditions-based restrictions in use today. (Signs, horns, flashing lights.) Last week, a senior Alexander staffer in D.C., Allison Martin, assured me that we did not have to reassemble the Tennessee / Kentucky fishing militia that was heard so loudly in Congress. Apparently the two gentlemen assigned from the Senate and House, Messrs. Sanders and Graves respectively, are indeed at work, pickin’ the fly poop from the pepper. Ms. Martin expressed her confidence that the reconciliation will be soon, and the bill will be presented to your President for signing.

The signs and buoys have been put in place on Dake Hollow and are very much in the way.
