Default Normandy

Spent a great day wet wading below Normandy Dam. Caught all the trout I wanted and the chunky Gills are moving up river. The Gills were hanging out in the riffles.....none in flat water. It was just a relaxing day on the river.....which has been slowed to the trickle of a small creek.

I was thinking about you today, Alpha, while I was launching the boat. It was still dark with the first signs of dawn on the horizon, my trailer was the only one in the entire parking lot and aside from the occasional car over on Riverside Drive, it was so nice and peaceful. I thought to myself, "I wish I could do this every single day like Alpha."

I've been beating my brain, trying to figure out a way I can retire early but with a family and 5 more years to pay on this house, it's not going to happen unless I win the lottery or National Geographic suddenly decides to focus on nothing but the Great Blue Heron and they start buying all my pics (I got a million of 'em!) LOL

What are your thoughts on kayak navigability with these low flows? Planning to run it from the dam in early May.

You have to do some dragging but I enjoy it. I really enjoy watching the trout run the riffles when the flow is low. I like to pull up on a spot and just drop the drag chain and work it over. The flow may increase a little by early May......the lake should be at summer pool by then.
