Default Normandy-Williamsport 04/09/2014

Arrived at Normandy around 8 this morning. Proceeded to catch 63 black perch at the dam. Man they are just a lot of fun...nothing but muscle. Most of the fish were 7-8 inches. I thought the Spots were gone but I caught 3 of them today...the best at 15 inches. Went down stream to a chute I fish and caught 56 trout most at the 11-12 inch mark. Decided to call it a day and when got back into my vehicle had a PM from a forum member wanting to know the conditions at Williamsport.....so got a bite to eat and headed to Williamsport. The crappie and the bluegill are stacked on the dam at Blue Cat Lake. I caught several dozen crappie and the good news is they were all over 10 inches...they are finally growing to legal size there. Caught several dozen Gills but only have the one pic of a 7 inch female. Caught a lot of 8 inch males with a big girth...really plump fish. My phone screen would not unlock after taking the first Gill shot. I thought oh no, my phone is going bad. Then got a call from a forum member giving me a fishing report as I was on my way home and when got off the phone with him everything was OK. The red eye...crappie....Gills were all caught on a Bison colored Trout Magnet. The Kentucky's were caught on a white Trout Magnet. On entering Williamsport turkey were everywhere......I thought yep...the fish are going to bite here today....and they did. I imagine Williamsport....and all lakes will be covered up this weekend. Just wanted to let those that do fish Williamsport know it is on.

Regards

Thanks.....In about 2 to 3 more weeks will be fishing it pretty good with my new si sonar. So will be posting about what I get into. I have been given some good spots to try but the time is a couple of weeks away. They are behind on bringing lake level up.

Thanks Alpha. The good thing about the Guntersville tournament is you can launch from anywhere, so you could get away from all the hustle if needed.

Good luck the rest of the week

I saw that. I wonder if it went back in, in the frying pan, or to the taxidermist?

The turkeys were out at the entrance to Williamsport yesterday too. I may have to give those crappie a try on Saturday.

Nice report alpha and glad you had a great time and great catches.

You are the master of the trout magnets, no doubt. My hat is off to you, (watch the glare from the sun to my head).

Here's hoping we can get a break in scheduling of my trips and your trips so we can get together for a little fishing,

Glad you had a (another) good day Randy.

Maybe I can go with you and Merv. I can tutor him while you fish.

Mr Randy, you are on fire this spring!!!, I hope we can get toghether to fish Normandy soon, I went Sunday below the dam, and got into some gills, trout, red eyes and even a couple of short Crappie, nothing to brag about but a fun day using UL and TM's, later a man with a couple of kids arrived there fishing with nightcrawlers and not getting many bites, I gave them a good handful of several colors of TMs and they went on to catch several fish and taking pics of the kids with their catches, pretty neat to se the excitment of the kids and their Dad as well!!
