Finally had the chance to get out on the water Saturday. I was worried about the little front that moved in, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get out there. Water temps were right around 60 degrees, which was a bit warmer than I thought they would be, so we fished a little shallower to see if anything had come up yet. We fished for about 3 hours and I had one bite all day. Most wouldn't be happy with that outcome (myself included), but it was a pretty good bite. Caught her on a square bill in about 4 FOW. I don't know how/why we didn't get anything else in this same location, but we didn't. My little scale said 6lbs and she was absolutely FULL of eggs.

Congratulations, I would be happy with that one bite. That fish is thick from heat to tail. You need to hold your arms out straight

If I had it to do all over again, there would be several things I would have done/done differently: maybe get a few measurements, get a pic of just the fish, etc. The weird facial expression (the one people get after they appear to have just eaten some smelly stuff), however, wouldn't change! The only thing I could focus on was keeping a tight grip on the lip so one flop wouldn't send her over the edge of the boat! This was definitely my biggest OHL bass and, probably, my biggest bass ever so my "protocol" on what to do after the fish was in the boat was a bit rusty!!

But thanks for all the comments. "Next time" I'll get some better pics and info!!
