I was spider rigging with 6 rods with Crappie Magnets (1/8 oz. Double-Cross jig heads). Several colors worked well. Also had minnows but they were not better than the jigs. This spring, I installed rod holders from Hitek Stuff (these are the rod holders that Jeff Smith from Leland Lures uses) and they are the best rod holders I have used in over 40 years of spider rigging. Hitek is making some mounts that will insert into my Scotty bases.

I sure like the way Jeff Smith has his boat rigged for crappie.

I went back to Woods again this afternoon. I have never seen the crappie at Woods bite so well, must have caught at least 100 and was catching a fish on every cast when I left. Caught fish today on Crappie Magnets with 1/8 oz. Double-Cross Nickel jig heads. Hot pink and pearl was probably the best color today but they hit anything with red in it. I broke off a monster crappie right at the boat this afternoon!
