Thumbs up My first cast in my pond this Year .. <'TK><

Well since all of this global warming and everything has been so hot these past two years ... ( I couldn't even use my swimming pool last year it was so Cold !!) And such a mild Winter ... NOT !!! ... I am being factious for the tree huggers ... And after the past three years stocking my pond with all species of Piscatorial finny species ... I decided well lets make the first cast into my pond this year ... ... I kept no fish last year ..

Since I figured my Gills, copper nose etc. should weigh about 5 pounds each by now ... I invested in a broomstick Bream rig ... ..

My First cast ... The float disappeared like a shot ... At first I thought 3 pound Bass ... Nope I stocked 100 Blue Cats 2 years ago ... about as long as your index finger ... I don't know why? ... maybe for the fun of catching for the grand kids ... As far as taste ... I put them in the same category as Crappie and trout ... red line removed or not ... Bad !! And I use the highest 32% Protein fish food ...

Anyway ... I had a fun time with this fish with my pond power pole ... LOL !! <'TK><

By the way the premo fish for the wife and I is the Gill on the Huff !!! DSweet Meat !!

I was wondering how your pond was coming along. I'm sure that was a lot of fun.

TK,
Hope you didn't pay extra for blue cats cause it looks like you got channels. Awesome pool cue you got there! Bet that was a battle...

I have caught three Blues since yesterday ... as blue as the high pressure sky ... Now remember these are young fish 2 + years old ... They haven't developed in to the Awesome blue color all over yet ... And then caught two yellow Channels this afternoon ... Olive green ... I will admit ... I'm old ... And I am not a cat fisherman ... and the lighting was dark under my Verando roof when this pic was taken ... But I know blue from yellow ... <'TK>< I use to build and catch them in slat baskets when I commercial fished in the 80's ...

TK,
I'm not much on the cats either, but those blues are pretty tasty! Especially when compared to the channels. They will all be fun for the grand kids. Enjoy the good times!
