Default Normandy

Hey all, long time reader, first time poster.Well my nephew is out for spring break and figured we'd try our luck.Just wondering if anything is biting in the lake? Taking the day off from work and getting the boat out and try to catch something (preferably crappie) but we'll take whatever.Been spoiled fishing saltwater for the past few years and now that I've got another boat, I figured I'd try to fish around here more since my 8 year old nephew likes to go.Any help, suggestions or otherwise would be appreciated. Thanks
Kris

Fished below dam today but went up to boat ramp on lake and polled the fisherman pulling out. Talked to 5 guys and no one had any fish. Lake temps were 54 at about noon.

I fished Monday afternoon with only 3 short Crappie and a big ole Carp that fought so hard that I thought I had a mule at the end of my line!, such a dissapointment when I realized what it was, it gave a great fight none the less!!, people was fishing out in force Monday, the people that I talked to had not done good either, or so they say, but I did not see anybody catch a fish! but we are getting very close to prime time

Fished the Fire Lake end today, and got zilch. Still a big shad kill going on...the phytoplankton went crazy with the warm up the past few weeks. DO is down, and pH is up (+8). Need a good rain.
