Default Williamsport 03/30/2014

My dad and I fished Goldeneye from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. I fished:
  • 4" Slider Green Pumpkin 1/8 oz Spider Head - no strikes
  • 2" Slider Minnow Charteuse Black Flecks Orange Tail on 1/32 oz CM jig head - one 12" bass
  • TM Bison 1/32 oz CM jig head - one 12" bass
  • TM Bulldog TM jig head - two 8" redear

There was little to no fish activity until right before we left. Three folks fishing live bait at the ramp were occasionally catching small gills and bass. There was a rotating group of folks fishing from the dam; never saw any of them catch a fish. There was another pair in a jon boat; never saw them catch either.

This was my second time to fish the TM. I tried fishing it under a float, with a split shot, and without a split shot. The moss at the bottom of the lake was causing major issues for me. The two redear both came from shallow water in the back of the lake. I cast the TM out, tripped the bale, and started twitching it while slowly reeling in.

I had two strikes on the TM fished under a float, but I had trouble finding concentrated fish or a consistent bite.

There were half a dozen boats or so on Shellcracker. The majority of them were fishing the middle of the lake. I assume for hybrids.

Special thanks to Sambolie and AlphaHawk for helping me get geared up to fish the TMs. Everything worked great.

Glad you caught some fish. The weather this week should turn the fish on at Williamsport. Hope to see you out there some.

Regards
