Default Jpp 3/22/14

Started off fishing OH in a boat with a friend around 12:30 today and got skunked but the fun started when I decided to try a little bank fishing on JPP. I was hoping to try and find some crappie but realized when I got to my spot I forgot my trout magnets so I threw in some crappie magnets and didn't catch a thing (Except that shad I accidentally hooked). Threw on a green pumpkin tiny brush hog (Texas rigged) and the LM went nuts. I was lucky enough to run into Issac while I was there and got to fish with him for a while. I caught a total of 10 bass ranging from 12-15 inches. Isaac caught 4 or 5 and brought the biggest fish in. I'd say she was probably 3 1/2 lbs. I've never ran into a school of bass that big. It was a great day!!

Most of my fish are caught on 2# test. I catch a lot of Smallies at times in the 3-5 pound range. It is rare I break fish off. I have hooks pull out...but rarely a break off. The reason for the pullouts on larger fish is if you have drag set correctly with 2# test it is difficult to get the hook to penetrate the jaw of a larger bass. Using 2# test is not as difficult as it first seems. Of course you don't want to be hooking large mouths around a lot of wood...LOL.....then it is all over.

Regards
