Great day at Normandy
I said in my last post that I was going to wear Normandy out until my other waters warmed up...well I started today. In a little over 5 hours of fishing caught over 120 fish. I caught about 60 trout out of a seam using a Bison and sometimes white Trout Magnet on a Trout Magnet jig head twitching. I was switching rods back and forth but my other setup was a 1/8 jig with a long shank #8 steelhead hook with a Bison Trout Magnet body on it. For spotted bass was casting right under the water fall into the catch pool. Many times they were hitting it before I could get my count in..on the fall.....caught around 36 of them.....all between 10 and 13 inches. As you can tell from the pics they were fatties. I then found a spot just outside the seam where I was catching the trout and started catching black perch. Caught about 25 of them.....not the biggest but man they fought in that current. Been a long while since I have gotten into those. Those...along with the spots....were really digging and didn't want to come to the net. Just a great day of UL fishing. All fish were caught on UL setups using 2# test with #2 test fluorocarbon leader. The trout will be there up until July...the spots will not. I don't know when they will leave but I am going to wear them out until they do. Meeting my son there Monday...we haven't fished together in a while so looking forward to that.
Regards

It is a panfish that is also known as red eye....rock bass.....goggle eye. It is great table fare and a spirited fighter.

Yes it is 7.....any length. If you go I would hold out for the 11 to 13 inch fish. There are plenty of those size there.
