Default Anyone ever fish Marrowbone lake?

A friend told me about Marrowbone. Said folks had caught some nice sized bass there. Anyone have any experience first hand with the place?

I have not but there is ton of info regarding Marrowbone on this forum...your best bet may be to just do a search of "marrowbone" on fishingtn.com and you will find all types of info on times of year and baits used at what areas on Marrowbone. Not being a smarty here, but that is your best bet to get lots of info on that place because the info is there.

I Haven't fished it in 8 years or so but I never could get much of a pattern on bass.

It has a well established bluegill population and some guys in the past were very famous for knowing how to get the big ones, One old man named Gerry House AKA The "tubman" would take 50 a day floating in a tub in an inner tube.

Here is an old link and pics of that fellow. http://www.crappie.com/crappie/showt.../20101-Tub-Man

Default Got back a few hours ago

Landed 8-9 bass. Most of them were under 1lb. but a couple of them were decent. I was fishing a suspending jerkbait in silver/blue back all day long. For what it's worth, this was my 4th or 5th trip to Marrowbone and today was the best I have done there. I would love to find some of the big ones I know are in there.

I grew up in Ridgetop, TN and used to go there in high school a lot. I've seen some big ones come out of the thick vegetation close to the dock. I'm assuming the dock is still there.... It's been a while. Used to have fun catching catfish at the quarry end of the lake. That's what I call it...with the rip rap.

I remember seeing pictures of some real hogs out of Marrowbone back in the 80's and/or 90's . I always heard that they were pretty hard to catch.
