Default Rock Bass in the creeks the start of wetlegging

The Rock Bass Run ( AKA,redeye, goggle eye, black perch) is starting. The next 3 weeks will be the primer for pan fishing on Middle TN Streams!!! The Smallmouth will be getting going also and will probably overshadow these feisty fish.. This week we kept only 16. The Rock Bass were between 6 and 10 inches and only one was a female. Monday 36 in 2 hours. If the run was peaking it could havebeen 60 plus in two hours. Today's warm up may have those big females on the move out of there wintering holes to eddys with small gravel and sand to spawn. Crappie Magnets,Crappie Tube Jigs,Slider Grubs, craw imitations Slo Falls from Realbaits are awesome choices.(Local Tackle shops like Murfreesboro Outdoors,Hook 1, and Franklin Canoe and Kayak Company, LLC carry Real Baits Tackle) Now this can be a fish on every cast and in the panfish world, the Rock Bass is the best fighter and most aggressive there is!!! Ultra Lite is a blast a
nd even my 7 ft All Pro Rods medium action are fun also. So get out and wade one of our awesome streams. Give me a shout if you would like to chase some Rock Bass this spring and summer! It gets bettter the longer the days get!!!
