Default JPP 1-4 Crappie

My grandfather and I decided to fight the wind today on Priest. We fished up around the west fork east fork split area. We found Crappie in 20-23 ft of holding on trees along the river channel. All of the fish came on minnows tightlined around the trees. We had 10 keepers, 3 at or over 13". We caught antoher 15 or crappie along with some bass and blue gill. I have still not caught a Crappie on a crappie magnet, I did lose about 8 of them today in the trees. I also performed a taste test, and the crappie passed.

Thanks for the kind words. It was nice to see some of my spots I have not fished in years still produce fish. 3 of those fish were huge. If the wind would have not been so bad I think we could have caught 30 or more keepers. I was either catching or getting a bite on every cast at the end of the day when the wind died down. I could actually keep the boat positioned beside the tree.
