Fishing this weekend?
Anyone think it's a good idea with the cold weather moving in. I really want to go but don't really want to waist my time. If I went it would have to be Yak, John boat or my bass boat but with only the trolling motor because I still don't know whats wrong with the outboard. I was thinking maybe williamsport for hybrid and crappie. But If I could hit up JPP and catch some fish like CreekCrappie that would work to.

I'd roll with you and tough out the cold but I have to work through the weekend. Winter crappie fishing can be good from what I've read lately and I'd like to give it a shot.

Take the yak to dale hollow...fish bluffs and points on the lower end using football jigs, float and fly, or free lined shiners. You can also hit the obey for trout below the dam if generation isn't bad.

I was planning to do a guided trip to Dale Hollow one day in the Spring to learn about the lake before I make that long drive not knowing how to fish that water.

Jimmy, just quit work.... that way you can fish this weekend. I fished Dale Hollow last February and had did pretty well throwing minnows and letting them drift back to the boat. We caught smallmouth and rainbows. It was on the lower end around the damn.

That is what's fun about it Jimmy for me 4hrs round trip in the car to not catch a trout on the lakeside. Cuss all week long about waste gas, wasted time, no damn trout in the lake then plan another trip.

I work too many weekends haha, my real career gets in the way of my fishing career. We go through times where we're needed to support a project and that involves a lot of weekend work. Then I'll work 3-4 months in a row without working a weekend. Let's hope those months include the Spring

I'm ok with that if I was doing something like chasing hybrids on JPP and getting skunked. That's a short drive. I don't mind at all the 4+ hour round trip of driving to DHL if I know what I'm doing. Sure, I could get skunked anyway but I'd rather increase my chances of that not happening!

Yeah It seems that you have had to work weekends lately. Anyone think it would be worth fishing down at one of the williamsport lakes this weekend? Would the Hybrids be active?

that is funny Travis, it is exactly what happened to me the only time I've been up there, only that it takes me 2:45 each way, I had fun with my daughter though since I would not let her pee on the lake and she had to hold it till we reached the bank!! water too pretty to that!! Lol!!!
