Hi all,
I took my young son out fishing today on Old Hickory. I netted a few shad by the boat ramp to do some drift fishing if I got the chance. Spent the first few hours playing, snacking, and sightseeing with a little bit of fishing. He got tired after lunch and went to sleep in the bottom of the boat under a bunch of coats and blankets. I was able to bait up and send a few shad down to the endless schools of big fish I could see on the depthfinder.
I got a good hit in the second school I drifted though. After a good fight I got a good striper to boatside and almost lost him. Woke up my boy and had him grab the net. Finally got him in the net and he measured at 41 inches with a guess of about 30 or so pounds. We release it after a picture.
I asked my son to take the picture and he did a great job of getting me in the picture. Not so great at getting the fish. So here is my 4 year olds cell phone pic of my striper
At least he didn't drop the phone in the water like I have done in the past.
Another great day fishing on Old Hickory,
Jim
