Nickajack 11-01-2013
Met my nephew at Murfreesboro at 5:00 a. m. and headed for Nickajack. The first 10 crappie caught were 11-12 inch fish. Moved to location B and the next 20 fish were 13-14 inches with one being 16 inches. It is the pic of the crappie with the huge mouth....but he should have weighed another pound. The pics are all of separate fish. All fish were caught on a Bison colored Trout Magnet using 2# test NanoFil with Phantom 3# test fluorocarbon leader using the twitching method. So two limit of crappie and we headed home. The fish are just going to get bigger as the water gets cooler. This is my third year of fishing Nickajack for crappie from October through May. What an awesome crappie fishery......life is good!
Regards

Awesome, glad to see they are back! I almost drove down this morning but thought with the front that came through they might have lock jaw. Fished 6 hours on OH for 8 fish sonar showed fish and I through the tackle box at them. Should have made the drive there will be more days.

LOL, I had never heard of a jelly jar either till last night when my buddy called and asked me if I wanted to fish with him. I guess it's just another name for an open...this one was unscheduled and impromptu so maybe that's it. Heck, I have no idea LOL.
Unfortunately, your luck didn't rub off on me or my partner. We caught nothing but smaller bass, couldn't put a keeper in the boat to save our lives. Sure was a gorgeous day out though.

I wish MNfisher had been there to take some photos. Those mountains are afire with color....plus my iPhone camera doesn't do the fish colors justice either. Get that fishing in before baby comes.....and congrats on the upcoming new addition.
