Default What kind of fish is this

I had a friend catch this at Bledsoe creek last weekend. I seen a lot of fish but not this one?

Tilapia! That's good eating right there. The TWRA doesn't want them released back in the water, nobody is quite sure how they got in there, probably the result of bad floods. I've caught them at the steam plant.

That was my guess but it looked a little different from the ones I catch at steam plant

That is a blue tilapia, and they are an invasive species. Somebody's pet that was let lose and they have bred up the wazoo. My buddy is a biologist for twra was telling me about them and said we need to kill them all before they become the next Asian Carp. And yes they are very good to eat

oh that is not a good sight to see hate when fish that dont belong in our waters get here for some reason , but they are good eating fish on and catch them so they dont clog up our water ways and lakes they can grow to size of dinner plates
