Arrow Shallow Senko bite

I have been ona good shallow senko bite the past few days. I have been catching them in 2-4 fow. I was using a 5 inch junebug Senko . I caught 5 yesterday off the bank in the middle of the woods, and one on our boat in the weeds today. So far no keepers, but some were very close.

Everyone has been talking about how much bait there is right now but all of the pictures I have seen lately are sone really skinny bass. I don't get it. They should have bulging bellys.

I fish a Senko or some variation more than half of the time, a very dynamic bait.

A little secret of mine is using the Bass Pro Shops Finesse STIK-O, it's 3 inches I believe, with light 6-8 lb test line and a weighted/weedless jig head. I've found when all else fails this little finesse bait can be deadly, especially for Smallmouth and Red Eye in the creeks and rivers.

On a trip to Canada last summer a guide taught me how to wacky-rig a senko for suspended smallmouth, and once you get the hang of it and can recognize hits while the bait is falling you will clean them up. I've been trying this tactic with some success around bridges and boat docks.
