Default VFW Lake 10-02-2013

Spent the day at VFW Lake and had a ball with the ultra light. Got into some nice 8 inch Gills. There were a lot of buck bass playing all over the lake. So I put on a float and fished the new Trout Magnet color "Gainer".....which is same color as Killer Klatt Crappie Magnet. The buck bass tore it up...even though they were only about 8 inches still a lot of fun. My iPhone camera can't do justice to the colors these fish have. The Gills are full of copper.....blue....orange....just a lot of colors. Also caught a couple of 11 inch crappie. Had the lake all to myself and that was really nice. Very quite and peaceful.

Regards

I wish I could help you. This time of year they can become as your name on the forum....Nomads.....LOL. I cannot get to my spot on Pickwick that holds them this time of year. The debris goes out about 6 feet from the bank and while I could cast way out past it getting the fish back in over that stuff with 2# test line would be hard. I am hoping as they continue to lower the lake the debris will stay on the bank as water drops. But man wasn't it a nice peaceful day on the water today.

Regards

God willing, I have nothing but time and I'll have loads of fun learning where the fish are at what time of year. And yeah, today was one of "those" days that really made me appreciate being able to get out there and enjoy mother nature.
