Default old hickory lake fishing report 9/5/2013

Went back out today and there was little to no wind and hot. I tried everything I could think of and still could not get a hit. It's bad when gills will not hit a small jig at the edge of the grass in the shade. I guess I going to have to use bait because of all the bait fish in the water. I didn't see any large spots of braking fish until 11am and the water temp 82.3 and this morning it was 80.1. I will go back out tomorrow morning and see if it picks up....................woody

I didn't see any bass playing at all today Woody....and my Gills came out of 30 feet of water. Tough after this little cold front.

I caught 5 bass yesterday afternoon on Old Hickory. Only one that was barely a keeper. I could not keep the bluegills off my worm. I finally gave up on the bass and starting wearing out the bluegill on a trout magnet. Take that bluegill!!!

I wasn't using a live worm. I was using a 4" Zoom dead ringer for the bass.

If they're still generating enough to keep some current in the main channel, it's time to find some moving water.

I was fishing moving water. It was strong enough to wash my 1/8 oz. jig under rocks constantly.
