Got out for a couple hours last night with a good friend. We fished from about 630 to midnight. Started out drifting shiners and fishing swim baits over some elongated points hoping to pick up some of the big boys but no luck. Had one really good blow up in the area but it was over before we could get to it. No sign of them the rest of the night.
We moved to some cliffs adjacent to the points after the sun went down. We were sitting in 20-30 feet of water. I was fishing a Texas rigged trick worm in Watermelon flake with a chartreuse tail. Managed to land my best two bass of the year! The first one went 18" and I forgot the measure the second before I sent him back to the deeps. Barely felt them take the bait...Lifted my rod tip and there they were. Sure was a nice night to be out!
Aside from that terrible cap, those are great pictures! Were you fishing on the bottom in those depths?
Pretty sure that cap is my good luck charm!! We were casting against the cliff and fishing the first shelf or so. I'd retrieve it once it got about halfway back to the boat.
