Default Caney This Weekend

The wife and I are headed east to the inlaws for a 4th of July family get together this weekend and I was thinking of stopping by the Caney on the way to/from. It would be my first time on the Caney and was hoping some of you good give me some advice on to where to access it. We would be coming from Nashville headed towards Knoxville. Since I will have the wife with me I would like to get on fish fairly quick, not to considered with size on this trip. If someone can direct me to a nice area we may make a day out of it with a picnic and what not. Any help would be appreciated it.

Thanks ahead of time.

Man, I hate to discourage you from such an awesome fishery but that river will be a madhouse on the 4th of July. I vowed years ago NEVER again would I fish that river on a weekend because of the crowds and especially on a holiday.

Since you want to make a picnic out of it, the rest stop access area might be a good place to check out. Also if you're going to be there during no generation I have a perfect place to picnic that doesn't get too much traffic. I'll PM you the location.
