Default Stones River Trout

With my kayak out of commission I did some shore fishing yesterday at the Stones River. It's not the prettiest place (trash, traffic, and joggers). However, I did manage a really nice trout.

I know they stock them there but it was still a surprise for me. Caught him on a rooster tail and he gave a good fight.

No photo as I didn't want to keep him out of the water too long. Trout seem a little gentler to me...

Won't be long now!

Glad you caught a nice one, I would have kept that one for the frying pan as long as you have a trout stamp. Trout in the Stones don't holover as far as I know, he's going to more than likely die anyway by the summer.

Keep me updated on the status of your kayak, and if you need any help with that let me know and I'll see what I can do.

My kayak developed cracks under the seat (a common problem with older Coosa's). Jackson replaced the hull under warranty but I'm still switching over some of the old kayak's parts.

I'll likely drive over there and have them inspect my handiwork in the next week or so. I plan to post about the whole process as Jackson has been really great about honoring their warranty. I'm in NYC for work today and I miss the lakes and rivers already...
