Default Tims Ford Striper

Me and a friend were out on Tims Ford Wednesday and had a great time fishing. I caught my personal best on that lake after fishing there for about 10 years or so. We caught approximately 15 all together. Mostly hybrid but were able to catch a nice flat head and a 23lb Striper. It seems that alot of rock fish in Tims Ford have died off over the past few years. We used to catch probably 3 or 4 rockfish for every 10 hybrid and now it is probably closer to 1 for every 10. I ended up letting the 23lber go and he seemed pretty energetic when he got back in the water. What a fun day and can't wait to do it again in the next few days. All these fish were on live bait.

Nice fish!

I believe from what I hear, the striper didn't work out very well in Percy Priest and Tim's Ford. The hybrid are doing fantastic, but the Striper must need that constant flow that Cordell Hull and OH provide. For most the summer, the stones and the elk provide pretty much zero flow in Percy and Tim's.

Everyone I talk to who fished percy and Tim's say that the striper fishery is falling fast and it is nowhere close to what it once was.

Excellent. I'll be camping out there some next week, hopefully the bite will still be on.
