Wind up to 10 mph NW
WC up to 32' fish in all depths
Slight stain due to rain, but not much
Put in and went down river. Stopped at end of island where river splits. Slow trolled with big motor until I located a school of baitfish and other fish according to depth finder. Threw marker so I would know where they were. Cut motor and set poles and trolling motor. Drifted to area and set front anchor. Wind swept me around so I set front anchor. Began vertical jigging with 2x 1/8th jig heads and plastic jigs. Multitude of colors. Caught 5 small white crappie (6-8"). Fish were found in all depths from 6' down to 22'. Dropped down and slowly reeled up. Set a pole around 10' another at 18' and cast browning pole. Sat here from 1:15pm to 4:30pm. Decided to try trolling. Trolled at .6-1.3mph depending on the wind and current. Caught 1x 11" white crappie on dreamscicle (orange and white bobby garland shad) and 1x 11 3/4" white crappie on black and clear sparkle shad. Both of these were in 24' water column. Caught 2 other small crappie. All fish caught today were white crappie. Hopefully this means I'm starting to figure this out. Talked to two guys when leaving that caught 20 keepers on an all day trip on nothing but minnows by trolling.
