Default Montgomery Bell SP

Hey all - has anyone had any luck in fishing the three little lakes at Montgomery Bell SP. I'll be there camping right after Easter with the fam and a canoe. There are three lakes there - two that allow boats and one that doesnt. There looks to be a decent sized creek that runs right next to the campground as well - our spot overlooks it...Many thanx

I fished the one where you can rent boats. It was obscenely hot, though. I remember catching a bunch of gills.

Acorn is the one that rents boats. I have not fished it in a few years but there used to be some decent gills, bass and catfish in there. There are lots of crappie but they are small. We used to fish off the end of the boat dock and throw as far as you could toward the middle of the lake with small curly tail grubs early in the year and catch as many crappie as you want. They were just small. There are shellcracker in there too just not as many as there used to be.
