Thumbs up Thanks from Rick.. Good Read ! <'TK><

Sent “Thank You” notes to Congressman Whitfield, Congressman Cooper (I hate lying about my zip code), our four cosponsoring senators, and to Bill Dance publicist, Leslie Reasons.

In the note to the legislators, I offered my deepest thanks for diverting their attention to local matters, while the D.C. bovine exhaust grows deeper with each passing day. More importantly, I expressed my hope that as the aforementioned el Toro poo poo is dealt with by what will likely be a thousand page budget bill (which absolutely none of them will actually read) - that S421 and HR826 be tactfully slipped into the pages of that budget bill (as a cost take-out) and ride it all the way to the White House.

In my note ultimately /hopefully going to Bill Dance, I encouraged him to recruit his T.V. colleagues, and his huge commercial base within the fishing industries’ manufacturing, distribution and retail businesses. (He’s buds with Johnnie Morris for cryin’ out loud.) The people within the businesses potentially affected; people at the likes of Strike King, Shimano, or Fishing Holdings, need to think about the Corps expanding its reach, and help stop it now. They need to get involved sooner; not later. Write their congressmen an Senators...

Tomorrow, I’ll send similar thanks to the 7 other Tennessee Congressmen, who signed off on a letter to De Lapp back in January. I’ll ask them to keep a watchful eye on the progress HR826, remind them that the Corps web site identifies tail-water areas more than a mile from some dams, and ask them to keep the tenets of separation of powers in mind, as the Corps attempts the end-around on civilian waters. I’ll encourage them to chat with their colleagues about it, regardless of the state they represent. Who knows who’s next?

Let’s keep recruiting the letter writers and phone callers, ‘til someone gives the official order for the Corps to stand down.

I’m anxious to hear how the meeting with Sen. Alexander and ASA Darcy went...
