Default Stones River

Hello everyone, new to the site and just checking things out! Headed out to the stones last week looking for bass. Caught a few largemouths and a smallie right close to shore on worms just letting them sit on the bottom, this being the biggest. Forgot the scale but it was probably a few pounds and put up a nice fight! Good luck this week everyone, the weather is supposed to warm up next weekend!

Welcome! There's a lot of great people on here, some of which have been fishing longer than I've been alive and can offer some great advice!

Nice fish, I haven't had any luck on the Stones the past two trips. Hopefully I can get it dialed soon.

nice fish! mostly largemouth through that stretch of the stones but you will run into some smallies and spots from time to time. i actually caught four or five crappie over there a couple of weeks ago. they were caught on a little original rapala. that stretch is fished somewhat heavily so be somewhat selective if you decide to harvest any of those catches.

Yeah I see people down there all the time too. I like the spot because it constantly produces fish, but I never keep anything from the stones anyways. I caught some nice smallies last fall and had a few gar on over the summer there. Do you know if there aree any catfish lurking around in that strecth? I tried once at night but caught nothing.

I was thinking about strapping my rod to the rack on my bicycle this weekend and riding down the stones greenway and stopping at particularly bassy spots along the way.

Or maybe i shouldnt? Do you think the water will be down enough by then?
