Thumbs up Update From Wade White <'TK><

We have moved forward recently. Judge Lasher and Judge White of Livingston and Lyon County went to Washington to push our case forward on the federal level.

Since that visit US Congressman Ed Whitfield of Ky has drafted legislation which Senator Lamar Alexander supports to help stop the Corps plans to barricade. So this is great news. Your call and signatures have made a difference!

Now there is a RALLY/PRESS CONFERENCE for us all to get together and show we stand together. I hope if there is any way you can come to the rally Thursday that you will do so. See you there! Rally info is below.

Sen. Lamar Alexander to Hold Public Event
Below Old Hickory Dam Next Thursday
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Senator Lamar Alexander has demonstrated exceptional leadership in challenging the Corps of Engineers' plan to ban boats in Cumberland River tailwaters, and we're proud that he's representing Tennessee sportsmen in Washington.
Sen. Alexander will hold a public event next Thursday, Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. below the Old Hickory Dam, a popular trophy tailwater known for great striper fishing (see photo!).
The location is 5 Powerplant Road in Old Hickory, Tenn. It promises to be an informative update, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
TWF has been actively engaged in this issue, and we appreciate your support in reminding the Corps that these are public waters--owned by all of us, held in trust by the state and maintained by their engineers. As such, we--and our elected representatives--should have a say in major policy decisions, such as this one completely banning boats from our world-class fisheries.
