I think the meeting at Old Hickory with the Senator will attract national attention. I hope so. Personally I have only fished below Cheatham dam back in 1996 during a PBF tournament. I have fished below some TN River dams with good success. I think it will be a disaster for fishermen to loose such a great fishery along the Cumberland.
I listened to Doug Markham this morning and Senator Alexander was on the last 1/2 hour. I think he and other politicians are batting for us. He has said he will propose a bill to stop ACOE. the problem is with Senator Reed not bring bills to the floor to be voted on. He feels there can be a workable compromise worked out with the ACOE. I have not heard or read any one in support of closing the areas around the dams. Kentucky has a list of politicians working on this as well. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.
