Default decisions decisions where to fish.

Hmm where to fish on Thursday.

Fish the caney for monster trout? Never really tried it during winter generation when everyone says the big boys come out to play. I normally go at night during the summer.

Go to cordell hull for sauger again?

Or hit GSP up only been once this fall /winter.

Does anyone know if the walleye run around rock island has begun? I know it is alittle early for it though.

If I were guessing, I'd say it's too early for the walleye around Rock Island. It seems like all the talk has been that the run has been a little later than normal for the past couple years for some reason.

GSP might be a safe bet with the cold snap, but I'm sure it'll be crowded.

I would think sauger would be getting good soon.

I've been doing a lot of question asking and researching on the Walleye because I want to get into them this year. From what I gather, the run around Rock Island doesn't start until March-ish. If you decide to hit the Caney for trout, swing on down to Cookeville because TWRA is stocking Cane Creek Park with a few thousand trout tomorrow. Should be pretty easy to catch a limit and head home with dinner. I might go if I can get some free time in between class.

You would think, but I have not heard any good reports. I've been twice, both times were a bust.

Yea mid February to late April is normally the walleye run in general.

Cookville is way out of the way. If I wanted to catch stockers I got the duck that's like 15 from me. And the elk is like 30 MIN. Thereis a reason I drive 2hrs to the caney.

Cookeville is just 20 min away from the Caney, that's why I was mentioning it. I make that drive quite often! Well good luck wherever you go. Last time I went to the dam to fish at night I froze and missed one hit on a rattlin rogue but that's it. I know they're there, just wasn't my night.

That lake is just down the road from me so I decided to head there in search of the stockers put in yesterday. It was so cold there was ice accumulating on the rodtip so that eventually I couldn't reel past my knot where the 2lb leader was! When I finally found a bunch of trout, they were all very small, not even worth taking home so between that and the painful cold, I left. 28 degrees and wind blowing off the lake right in my face was not enjoyable. I'll try again if we get a warmer day!
