Default Fish Finder Mounting

I currentley have a Lowrance Elite 4 mounted at the console with the Trans mounted on the transom. I just bought a Lowrance Elite 4 DSI that I am going to put at the console and the other up front. My question is...
Can I just mount the new Trans on the other side of the transom or does it have to go up front on the trolling motor?

JD 99% of the time the front fishfinder trans is located (mounted) on the trolling motor ... Adapter mounts can be purchased at Bass Pro ... The purpose of having the depth/fish finder up front with you is so you can see the proximity of where you are fishing ... Not where you have been ... <'TK><
