Arrow Didn't find the Stripers!

Come on guys. I need a tip! Wife hooked something, but he snagged her in a tree and she lost him. Have yet to find them in all my usual spots. Any Ideas?

I haven't been having any luck with stripers the last couple of trips either. The last trip I marked a large school along a bluff, big fish marking from the bottom up to about 20' in about 35' of water, drifted shad through them for a couple of hours with no bites. No real help, more like a mini support group, "I feel yer pain man"... I'm going to try again maybe Wednesday, maybe going farther up river.

Went to the Steam Plant today. Found some smaller ones. Skipjack were everywhere around 4:00. I caught dinner and went home, 2 good eatin' size stripers.

I don't fish for stripe, but while crappie fishing Friday morning in the back of Hidden Cove the stripe were wearing the schools of shad out. I was watching them 15 feet from the boat, looked to be in the 24" to 30" range. If I would have had more than 4# test on my reels I would have thrown some cranks out there to see if I could tie into one. They were back in the cove this spring also. My son went there with the intention of catching a stripe and had one on till he made a run and ran the spool out. I've also seen them in the back of Twin Coves almost accross from the landing by the GSP.

Good luck,
Ray

Here's a tip for ya...

Wait til it is a lot colder than it is now, and go to Tim's Ford near the dam. Follow the birds, the stripers will be there.

I tell you, when I was there 2 days ago, the whites/stripes were crushing everything in sight just one cove past the steam plant. Also they were killing it on the flats in front of the entrance to the steam plant. I went into that cove netting shad and with one cast I had about 2000 of those suckers, even netted up a good size white bass. Good luck, might see you out there, but I won't be there till 1 ish. In a black boat that looks like batman.
