Default Fontana Lake

Got a cousin headed to Fontana soon. Any tips for bass fishing this time of year. Have no idea which part of lake or any other info. He just asked me about fishing the area and I've never been there.

Know it's deep and clear. Just curious about basic fall patterns?

Jigs/cranks/spinners/live bait?

Other species?
Thanks.

Not sure about bass but there are some big brown trout in there and in the next month or two they will be migrating up the creeks out of the body.

Hazel Creek and the Nantahala River are probably the most known feeders to the lake. They are definitely more known for trout than bass.

I used to grouse hunt and hunt ginseng by boat on these lakes. You will have some lovely views even if the fish don't bite .
