Default mouth of stones river to nashville

How many miles is it from the mouth of the stones to downtown via the Cumberland river?
I'm making the trip tomorrow. From oh dam to the stones and back my boat only used a 1/4 tank and I'm pretty sure i was about halfway to riverfront in downtown Nashville. Any help would be appreciated.

I think that's wrong. Looking at the map it doesn't look very far.

The mouth of the Stones is roughly at mile marker 206 and Titans stadium is around mile marker 190.

For reference the Dam is a little past mile marker 216.

Smile Nav Maps .. <'TK><

Guys I have a full set of US Army Corps Of eng's Nav Maps for the Cumberland and the Tennessee.. Which I had to have when I was guiding by the USCG Captains regs ...

So anytime anyone needs to know distances to creeks, from dams, etc ... Just post, will be glad to pass it on .... Travis is correct in his markers ... <'TK><

If it took 1/4 tank of gas to get from the dam to the Stones and back, I don't think you will have enough gas to get all the way downtown and back. I'd choose a closer place to put in.

IF you have your carry permit then you could put in at Shelby Bottoms and be closer...

Put in at the ramp near the mouth of the Stones River - it's off Fembrook Lane. Take McGavock Pike to Fembrook, turn East and follow it to the soccer park. Turn right and follow the gravel roadway and the ramp is right there. No courtesy dock so its pretty much a two man operation.

That ramp off Fembrook is roughly a half way point between the OH Dam and downtown.

I agree put in at the stones. I put in at the ramp to fish the river regularly and it's the best river ramp I've used, it would be nice for them to put in lights for the night but other than that it's awesome.

This discussion has me a little confused. As far as I know, the ramp on the Cumberland nearest to the mouth of the Stones River is at Neely's Bend. It is on the Madison side of the river just a short distance from the confluence with the Stones. If I remember my mile markers correctly, it is about 8 miles downriver from Old Hickory Dam, and it would be another 17 miles or so from Neely's Bend to downtown.

Maybe I am confused, but I recall there being a ramp off McGavock Pike on the Cumberland closer to the Opry Mills area - it is nearer to downtown but I don't recall it being close to the Stones River.

I put in at the new twra ramp on the stones last night and went downtown to riverfront. It didnt seem like 17 miles, but maybe it was. It seemed more like 5. We had to go slow for a bit due to fog and we did a little fishing on the way. I caught a 30+ lb flathead and a 10 lb blue. It turned into more of a sightseeing trip then a fishing trip.

Thanks for the replies.

BD - The Ramp north of McGavock is Lock 2 Park. Used to be a good ramp and I use to use it a lot but there is a crime problem. Do a Google search and zoom in on the Stones River mouth and you will see the new ramp about 1/4 mile upstream south of the walking bridge at Heartland Park where the soccer fields are. This is, bar none, the best ramp on the Cumberland below Old Hickory Dam. If I don't lock through I go here.
