Default Hot weather creek smallie

I floated a large portion of the east fork of stones river rwo weekends ago and suprising caught a ton of smallmouth. Probably caught 30 or so. Almost all were caught on a yum crawfish bait rigged on charlie brewer's slider head. Best of the day was a 19+ inch smallie. Would post a pic but laptop has given up the ghost and i cant figure out how to do it from my phone.

Do you rig them up through the body like a tube worm? Ive seen some guys do it like that but havent tried it. Just wondering if its worth trying.
