Default Sturgeon

Just wondering, but has anyone ever caught Sturgeon in Old Hickory Lake or below the dam cause i just read this article and was curious!

Tyler, back before all of the Dams and Locks ... schools of Sturgeon in the 100 plus pound range use to migrate the Cumberland river ... I was told this when I was a teenager by a number of old guys who lived on the river since the turn of the last Century ... (I lived on the river then) .. But when the locks and large dams impeded their migration ... they died out .... <'TK><

My cousin caught one below OH dam catfishing a year or so ago. She had no idead what it was.

My bro in law caught one in April below center hill dam. He sent photos and info to TWRA and they sent him a certificate verifying his catch. These fish, if all goes well, will be the cause of a lot of surprise when one hits cutbait below a dam and empties a spool...sadly, it'll be a while before they reach that size.
