Stripers below OH dam
Fished below OH dam early this AM. We caught three rockfish between 5-6 AM. After that, it was just small white bass, a couple one lb stripers, drum, all the usual suspects.
We being me, Merv Johnson, aka agelesssone, Mike Ernst aka MNfisher (and a helluva fisherman), and Jimmy DiTraglia aka jad2t.
We got off the water at 10:00 AM. Fishing was really slow from 7AM on.
I apologize for the blurry photo of the 18 lb'er. We were in the spray from the gates, my glasses were sprayed up and I couldn't see the picture on my phone's camera when I snapped it and couldn't see if it took well or not. Obvioulsy it didn't!

Looks like a lot of fun... were you using live bait?

No live bait, 4, 5, 6 inch swimbaits.

The technique is totally new to me so by the time I got the hang of it, the striper bite was about over but I did manage to catch my first one finally. Not pic worthy though, a couple pounds maybe. Later on that day I hooked something pretty large that was peeling off drag then got away. Nobody saw what it was, quite a heartbreaker!
I had a blast and can't wait for next time. And, Mike, I owe you a swimbait for that one I lost. I'll add to my striper lure collection before our next trip and I'll give you one.
